Andi, Part: Wedding & Marriage

Marriage.

It was not one of the things that we had in mind when we first met.

Our kismet is predestined even though our first kiss wasn't. Well, I suppose, it was predestined, since as it turns out our relatives are not stranger to one another as we once thought. Semarang is tiny after all. Made up of roundabouts, small alleyways, tight circles of friends and acquaintances and colleagues and professionals, wide roads, hopes and dreams, tiny coffee shops, soto warung, conventional wedding organisers, and greeneries.

But, we are made up of more than that. We are more than the sum of everything that could be defined as our origins. We paved pathways into our own future that none of our predecessors successfully made or cared for. We became our own entity, without having to let go our past identity. A merger of realities. Finally collided without having to fear collateral damage.

We finally are. That's all that matters. Almost a decade after the jittery beginning of being unsure and feeling of partial betrayal of the given respective pasts. Where else would we go but tying the knots? Especially after knowing that a string of fate already tied itself around us since long before the sky meets the sea.
